White, the gifted 220-pounder whose 6,678 career yards and 82 touchdowns make him the most successful local running back ever, is the central figure in this matchup featuring numerous other standouts. He enters the game fresh off a 304-yard, five-touchdown performance that left semifinalist Saugus decimated 55-21 seven days ago.

Hart is that good.

The Indians have a lot of everything, starting with Kyle Matter, who's passed for 3,604 yards and 46 TDs. Six receivers have at least 20 catches, led by Jared Bazar (66 for 1,269 yards, 14 TDs). This is what Valencia is up against.

``It's a large task playing Hart, and it's going to be the toughest game all year,'' White said. ``This is what we've worked for all season, and we can't make any mistakes. Hart's one of the best in the state.''

Hart coach Mike Herrington, whose Indians are making their seventh championship appearance since 1983 and fourth since 1994, isn't the sandbagging Sandbagging is the practice of deceptively portraying oneself as being in a weaker position than is true.

``This is definitely emotional for the community, there are strong feelings for both teams,'' Herrington said. ``Some families are divided up between Hart and Valencia. There are no separate barriers, so that makes this game very emotional.''

Bazar echoed his coach's sentiments.

``Valencia's got their second chance, and that doesn't happen too often,'' Bazar said.
