(AMCC(TM)) (Nasdaq:AMCC) is shipping the IDT eXternal Search Co-processor (XSC) NSE software development kit (SDK) and nP Workbench NSE daughtercard as part of its nPsoft(TM) Development Environment for its nP3450 and nP3454 network processor units (NPUs). The IDT SDK includes a unique, data-accurate system-level architecture model(TM) (SLAM(TM)) that allows design teams to reduce time to market for products featuring AMCC network processors by developing, verifying and optimizing software prior to hardware availability and implementation. This provides designers the ability to identify possible issues within the system architecture early in the design phase and the potential to explore architecture options to guarantee maximum system performance.

Today's announcement represents a continuation of the partnership between IDT and AMCC announced in November 2001. In October 2002, the companies announced that the IDT SDK was the first to work seamlessly within AMCC's nPsoft Development Environment. Currently, IDT offers four NSEs with integrated XSC interfaces, two NSEs with integrated Look-Aside (LA-1) interfaces, and a host of development tools that support the AMCC NPUs.

In addition, extensive documentation is also available to aid designers utilizing the IDT SDK with AMCC NPUs.

The IDT NSE daughtercard seamlessly attaches to the AMCC nP3400 and nP345x Workbench development systems. It features the IDT 75K62213 NSE, in a 256Kx36 (9-Mbit) configuration, with two integrated XSC interfaces.
