IDS Software Systems Wins Large Order from Texas Instruments for Data Management and Statistical Analysis Software.

) for dataPOWERsc(tm), the application solutions set for data management, yield improvement and statistical analysis of semiconductor manufacturing data.

This order covers an initial installation of 85 complete dataPOWERsc software licenses at five (5) sites located worldwide. Texas Instruments will implement the new IDS data management software seamlessly across multiple hardware platforms including Sun Sparc(TM) and IBM-compatible PC's.

Mr. Steve James, Texas Instrument's Engineering Manager at a Dallas fabrication facility, stated that "After months of extensive product testing, the IDS dataPOWER product was selected and is currently being deployed to several TI facilities. IDS provides a powerful set of tools that will enable us to effectively characterize new products, ramp yields, and monitor processes."

Texas Instruments required a data management, yield improvement, and analysis system with the flexibility, performance, and ease-of-use to enable them to manage and analyze the massive volumes of complex semiconductor fab process and electrical test data that were being produced by more than one thousand different products. dataPOWERsc's flexibility, open systems architecture and speed of deployment are an ideal fit for their growth requirements.

According to Texas Instruments' engineers, this software will enable the company to rapidly characterize and manufacture new products, ensuring a fast time-to-market and a competitive advantage.
