Birdstep Technology (OSE:BIRD) has announced that General Dynamics UK Ltd., a part of General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD), has selected Birdstep's RDM Embedded database management system as a database agent for network enabled airborne applications. RDM Embedded will provide database management for Innovative Concepts' Improved Data Modem (IDM Technology(r)). IDM Technology(r) supports the exchange of tactical data between airborne applications and ground forces to support enhanced mission execution capability.

General Dynamics UK Ltd and Innovative Concepts Inc., the IDM design authority, have been actively working together over the last four years supporting the introduction, test, evaluation and deployment of IDM digital data communications technology to the UK Armed Forces. Birdstep's RDM Embedded Data Management solution was selected for the critical IDM component due to the product's maturity and stability, verifiable speed and high-performance, and compatibility with the Green Hills Integrity platform, along with flexibility across a number of platforms.
