IDG Launches First IT Channel Publication in Denmark; IDG Channel Products Dominate European Region.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 1999--

International Data Group (IDG), the world's largest IT media and information services company, announced the debut of the first IT channel publication in Denmark, IT-Branchen. The premier issue of IT-Branchen will launch May 17th, bringing the total number of IDG channel publications to 18 in Europe and 30 worldwide.

With this launch, IDG's channel products are now represented in every country in the Nordic region of Europe. "IT advertisers now have the ability to create a cohesive, extensive branding campaign in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark," said Preben Engell, IDG Denmark country manager, " While readers will benefit from the editorial cooperation between the magazines in the region, they will also gain access to local and regional IT information specific to those markets."

Launched simultaneously with the print edition, the magazine will be available on the Internet at www.itbranchen.dk. The Web site is one of 15 in IDG Denmark, and underscores IDG's commitment to extend its position as the leading IT publisher in Denmark. The Danish web sites are part of 130 IDG European web sites, creating an online network of IT information focused on country, regional and European specific issues.

The premiere issue of IT-Branchen will include feature articles, news and select information on Danish IT vendors. Subsequent to its premier issue IT-Branchen will expand the publication to include a supplement on the "IT Top 100", featuring information on the entire Danish IT industry.

The publication will soon announce its advisory board, which includes top level managers from Cisco, Ingram Micro, Compaq, MerkantilData and local Danish IT telecom and Internet providers.

IDG Denmark Country Manager, Preben Engell, will oversee the publication as publisher. With more than 16 years working for IDG in the Danish market, he possesses a strong understanding of the subtle nuances of the Danish technology market. IT-Branchen's editorial team will be led by Editor-in-Chief Finn Morsing and Managing Editor Lisbeth Egeskov, both of whom are Computerworld (Denmark) veterans of seven and nine years respectively.
