IDC Study Names Oracle #1 In Global Internet Procurement Applications.


Oracle Corp., the largest provider of software for e-business, announced that analyst firm International Data Corp. (IDC) has determined Oracle is the world's No. 1 vendor of Internet Internet

 IDC, Oracle held 9.9 percent of the Internet Procurement market share in 1999, with no other vendor in the top five holding more than 5.3 percent. Oracle moved to the number one procurement spot with a fully integrated direct and indirect procurement offering.

IDC also recognized Oracle as a leading force in the e-commerce applications software market in 1999, of which Internet procurement was a part. IDC notes that Oracle is well positioned for the future in the e-commerce application space with its strong capabilities in supply chain automation and in the emerging B2B (Business to Business) Refers to one business communicating with or selling to another.
