IDB COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES OPERATING AGREEMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL TELEPHONE SERVICE WITH TELEFONICA OF SPAIN

 LOS ANGELES, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- IDB WORLDCOM, the private line and international long distance telephone unit of IDB Communications Group Inc. (NASDAQ: IDBX), announced today that the company has signed an operating agreement with Telefonica of Spain, the telephone company of Spain.
 IDB's agreement signed by Stephen Carroll, president of IDB WORLDCOM, enables IDB WORLDCOM to offer, for the first time ever, international telephone services via direct operating agreement with Spain. IDB currently offers the lease of voice and data international business services (IBS) channels with Spain via fiber optic, as well as Intelsat satellites.
 Telephone service to Spain is expected to commence within two months. Initial traffic volume with Telefonica will reach 1.4 million outbound minutes, with incoming minutes exceeding 850,000.
