IDB Business Seminar.
IDB BUSINESS SEMINAR. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)
will hold a Business Seminar on Financing Private and Public Sector
Infrastructure Projects & Breakout Sessions, at the Bank's
Washington, D.C. headquarters on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22 & 23,
2005. The event includes two networking lunches and a Welcoming
Reception hosted by the IDB, with the opportunity to meet IDB staff. The
workshop will concentrate on IDB support for public and private sector
projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, and will cover the
following topics: (1) Update on current IDB-financed infrastructure
projects, including environmental aspects; (2) Procedures for
procurement of consulting services, goods and works; (3) New procurement
policies at the IDB; (4) The Project Cycle: How projects are initiated
and developed; (5) Practical hints on how to win IDB projects--presented
by a private firm; (6) Case studies presented by IDB staff. Details:
