Virgin America is a new Virgin-branded domestic low-cost airline. The company's capital investment in initial facility improvement and equipment expenditures will be $6.5 million with projected capital investment to exceed $50 million over 15 years.

Orion Mechanical Systems, which specializes in heating, Ventilation, and air conditioning related services for the construction and real estate industries, will remain at its current location in Queens after scouting properties in New Jersey, Yonkers and Nassau County. The IDA Board approved tax benefits totaling nearly $823,000 to help the company acquire and renovate its existing building to improve efficiency and lower operating costs. The project is expected to cost $2 million.

A to Z Bohemian Glass, a Manhattan-based importer and distributor of high-end glass beads for the fashion and textile industry, will receive financing assistance to buy, renovate and equip a single-story building on Rewe Street in Brooklyn.

The expansion is expected to cost about $4.2 million.

S. DiFazio and Sons Construction and Faztec Industries are two Staten Island specialty contractors engaged primarily in underground utility construction. They are seeking IDA benefits to help acquire a 52,272-square-foot parcel of land. They will combine the land with property they already own to construct a maintenance facility and office building. After evaluating multiple sites in New Jersey, the firms decided to stay in Staten Island in part because of the IDA financing assistance of $1.34 million.
