It is an agricultural market and railway junction.  ends 2004 having closed on 48 transactions, up from 46 in 2003, which will help retain about 16,900 jobs and create about 6,500 new ones in New York City.

"Providing benefits to companies like DLX Industries not only helps vi able companies to grow, but it also protects and creates valuable industrial jobs," said IDA Chairman Andrew M. Alper.

The 48 transactions IDA closed in 2004 will help retain or create up to 23,400 jobs.

In 2003, IDA deals helped retain or create just over 23,000 jobs.

Of the 48 transactions, 18 were for projects in Brooklyn, 15 in Manhattan, seven each in Queens and the Bronx, and one on Staten Island.
