ICS Introduces New SAW Filters for GPS Applications; New SAW Family Offers Complete GPS RF Filtering Solution.LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Integrated Circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for Systems, Inc. (ICS (1) (Internet Connection Sharing) A Windows feature that enables two or more computers to share one Internet connection. First introduced in Windows 98 Second Edition, sharing is accomplished with network address translation (NAT), which is the common method. )(NASDAQ NASDAQ in full National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations U.S. market for over-the-counter securities. (SAW) products designed for use in global positioning system Global Positioning System: see navigation satellite. Global Positioning System (GPS) Precise satellite-based navigation and location system originally developed for U.S. military use. (GPS) equipment. The family includes radio-frequency (RF) and intermediate-frequency (IF) bandpass filters for GPS receivers, as well as a SAW delay line for system applications, enabling a complete GPS solution. "SAW technology offers the highest performance in a miniature size compared with ceramic or LC filters," said Steve Skiest, marketing manager for ICS SAW products. "ICS offers a complete filtering solution by offering both front-end and IF-stage devices. And, by offering our SAW filters in miniaturized packaging, we enable advanced performance in the smallest form-factor GPS applications." These ICS SAW devices are lead-free and RoHS-compliant, offering designers a highly reliable, consistent, space-efficient, and cost-effective method of filtering RF signals in GPS receivers, modules, and antennas. In addition to standard products, ICS also offers custom-designed filters to meet unique system requirements To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer system. These pre-requisites are known as (computer) system requirements and are often used as a guideline as opposed to an absolute rule. . Front-End RF Bandpass Filters The two new RF filters, the SF1575BA02505S and SF157BA02056S, are centered at 1575.42 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. and offer low loss, excellent rejection, and miniature 3.0 x 3.0-mm or 2.4 x 2.0-mm surface-mount packaging to meet the needs of small form-factor GPS applications. The SF1575BA02505S has a minimum bandwidth of 2.4 MHz over a temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Centigrade centigrade /cen·ti·grade/ (sen´ti-grad) having 100 gradations (steps or degrees); see under scale. cen·ti·grade adj. Celsius. . It also offers a very low typical insertion loss of 1.3 dB. IF Filter Ideal for IF-stage filtering, the SF0185BA02302S has a center frequency of 185.76 MHz with a minimum 3-dB bandwidth of 4.48 MHz. This part offers a tight rejection of more than 42 dB at 176.22 MHz. Additional features include low-amplitude ripple of less than 1 dB and low-phase ripple of less than 2 degrees, peak-to-peak. The SF0185BA02302S IF filter is offered in a 9.1 x 7.1-mm surface-mount package. Delay Line The SF1575DL03104S is designed as a 1575-MHz delay line for GPS, satellite, and other RF communications system applications. The delay line offers a nominal delay of 230 ns with a typical insertion loss of 19 dB over 1565 to 1585 MHz. This part is available in a miniature 5.0 x 5.0 mm surface-mount package. Pricing and Availability All components for the GPS RF filtering solution are available now. Pricing starts at less than $2.00 for the RF SAW filters in 1,000-piece quantities.
