JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq: JDAS) Thursday announced that Hong Kong-based ICON Cosmetics, Asia's first bricks and clicks cosmetics retailer, went live with the industry-proven, host-to-POS applications featured in JDA Portfolio(TM) only six weeks after signing the deal.

With the ink still drying on the June 9, 2000 contract for Open DataBase Merchandising System(TM) (ODBMS(R)) and Win/DSS(R) in-store system, JDA's Asia Pacific consulting team worked at Internet speed to have both products operational by ICON's July 24, 2000 soft opening. The official grand opening of ICON's first 10,000 square foot cosmetics mega-store in Hong Kong occurred on Aug. 18, 2000.

Far from resting on their accomplishments, the team is now focused on providing ICON's shoppers with another sales channel: www.icon-icon.com by late September 2000. According to Lyn Schmidt, vice president, managing director Asia Pacific, ICON's timing is excellent.

JDA consultants are currently implementing the remaining ODBMS modules, including Warehouse Control Center, as well as JDA Affinity customer relationship management and e-commerce applications, and the interface to ICON's third party commerce engine, IBM Websphere. ICON is running ODBMS on an IBM RS/6000 Model F80 and Win/DSS on the IBM 4695 Point of Sale System.
