ICF Consulting Awarded US$10 Million Contract to Support U.S. EPA Ozone Protection Initiatives; Firm Continues Quarter Century of Economic, Environmental Policy, and Other Analyses.

FAIRFAX, Va. -- ICF Consulting has been awarded a five-year, $10 million mission support contract--Implementation of Programs for Stratospheric Ozone Protection--with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Air Programs Stratospheric Protection Division. This contract continues prime contractor support that ICF Consulting has provided to the division for more than 15 years.

ICF Consulting supports the division in the following sectors: refrigeration and air-conditioning, foam systems, solvents, adhesives, medical sterilization, aerosols, pharmaceuticals, fire and explosion protection, agricultural fumigation, jet aircraft, ships, rockets, and destruction/transformation. In these sectors, ICF Consulting will provide the following services: policy and program analysis and development; environmental analysis; health and safety analysis; technical, economic, and market feasibility analysis; regulatory analysis and support; modeling and computer systems development; and communications and outreach.

The Stratospheric Protection Division is responsible for implementing programs to protect the ozone layer, including requirements under the Montreal Protocol and Title VI of the Clean Air Act. The division manages EPA's review of substitutes for ozone-depleting substances, and develops and implements voluntary programs that reduce emissions of high global warming potential gases. It also oversees and coordinates international technology transfer and infrastructure building programs related to ozone layer protection and climate change, and ensures reliable development of EPA's Sun Safety efforts.
