Forward Dave Brown, who is attending Moorpark College, leads the WSHL WSHL Western States Hockey League  with 35 goals and 53 assists. Brown, along with defensemen Shawn Smith and Ricardo Hernandez, center Darren Partch, and goalie Kevin Bartusch, were among five Mariners chosen to play in the inaugural WSHL All-Star Weekend. The Southern team, coached by Mariners head coach Scott Yorkison and assistant Sean McGillivray Jr., defeated the North, 8-3 and 10-6, in the Dec. 18 and 19 competitions in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Partch, of Agoura Hills, had three goals and four assists to finish as the weekend's leading scorer. Brown was limited to one assist in the first game but rebounded with three goals in the second.

Partch is the top American scorer in the WSHL in third with 35 goals and 38 assists and is considered one of the nation's top prospects for higher-level hockey.

In November, Partch was one of three players the WSHL selected to play on a Junior B national team in the King of the Hill in Waterloo, Iowa against higher-level Junior A teams from the United States Hockey League For the defunct league by the same name, see United States Hockey League (1945-51).
