ICC and ACOM Solutions Form Strategic Alliance.

Internet Commerce Corporation (ICC) (Nasdaq:ICCA), a leader in the e-commerce business-to-business communication services market, today announced that it has concluded a strategic alliance with ACOM Solutions, Inc., a leading developer of data translation and connectivity solutions. According to the agreement, ICC and ACOM will jointly market the ICC.NET network service in conjunction with ACOM's EZConnect XML data translation solutions to provide customers with a unified and fully automated supply chain solution.

Currently, the ICC/ACOM solution is being implemented at two large scale enterprises of diverse backgrounds, which illustrates the flexibility of this joint solution. One is an innovative manufacturer and marketer of wireless data products and accessories. The other is one of the nation's largest prosthetics and orthotics providers, a vertically integrated corporation that owns and operates more than 600 patient care practices with over 1,000 clinicians in 42 states.

EZConnect accommodates any data format, including true XML and proprietary formats such as SAP's R3 IDOC, as well as newer communications protocols such as AS/2. Using conventional EDI networks, it normally is necessary to convert XML data to and from EDI X12 or EDIFACT document forms, a process which the ACOM-ICC solution avoids.

"The result of the ICC/ACOM agreement is a vastly more flexible solution at implementation costs as little as 10 percent of that of a conventionally configured EDI solution," added Mikhail. "Where such a solution might run as high as $300,000, the ACOM-ICC solution can be integrated into customer systems for as little as $30,000. With the solution in use, the customer also benefits from significantly lower operating costs."

Under the agreement, the two companies are authorized to resell each other's product and service offerings and will jointly promote their respective product lines across their existing customer groups. Both companies market their solutions horizontally, with emphasis on such document-intensive sectors such as health care, manufacturing, transportation and distribution, insurance and finance.
