Although TFG and IBM have had a license agreement in place for over two years, the decision to move to an acquisition was prompted by the emergence of the ASP model. According to Mike Shields, VP of Business Development for TFG, "The use of Application Service Providers to deliver ERP solutions has changed the game for everyone. Our web enabled interface and robust e-business solutions are a natural fit for this environment. In addition, we have developed and integrated almost as much code as we are acquiring. It just makes sense to bring it all together."
