Under the terms of the agreement, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  will initially have the right to resell, install and support RMT's RADAR System and RADAR Data Tools throughout IBM's Asia-Pacific region. The RADAR System is the industry's leading financial risk management, profitability management and strategic planning software Strategic planning software is a computer application that aids in the strategic planning process. The user is guided through the steps of the planning process, perhaps with the help of a wizard. . Financial institutions use The RADAR System to reduce interest rate risk exposure, maximize profits within management-imposed risk limits, and more effectively manage the profitability of products, business units and customer relationships. RADAR DataTools is RMT's set of graphical client/server application generators that allows clients to rapidly design and populate data warehouses for use in decision-support applications.

As part of the agreement, RMT and IBM will work together to provide the RADAR System on IBM's RISC System/6000 SP See IBM SP.  Scalable Power Parallel (RS/6000 SP) architecture in order to meet the data and processing needs of even the largest financial institutions. Based on IBM's proven AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) IBM's Unix-based operating system which runs on its Intellistation workstations and pSeries, p5, iSeries and i5 server families.  and RISC RISC

technologies, the RS/6000 SP is known as a "massively parallel processor (MPP (Massively Parallel Processing or Massively Parallel Processor) A multiprocessing architecture that uses up to thousands of processors. Some might contend that a computer system with 64 or more CPUs is a massively parallel processor. )." Parallel processing enables users to run complex queries on vast databases in real time and to divide analytical work over multiple computing nodes. The RS/6000 SP platform will allow new developments in "manager-agent" protocols for handling complex data processing.

Development work will primarily be carried out on an RS/6000 SP unit in RMT's Berkeley, Calif. headquarters.
