IBM and CAS form strategic alliance.


IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and CAS, a provider of enterprise sales, marketing and trade management applications for the consumer products industry, recently announced a strategic alliance to deliver collaborative business solutions to the consumer packaged goods Noun 1. packaged goods - groceries that are packaged for sale

CAS' consumer products applications combined with IBM's middleware Software that functions as a conversion or translation layer. It is also a consolidator and integrator. Custom-programmed middleware solutions have been developed for decades to enable one application to communicate with another that either runs on a different platform or comes from a , hardware and services, are designed to increase consumer products manufacturers' speed to market and overall supply chain efficiency, while improving sales and marketing productivity.

Consumer products manufacturers implement CAS' CP iSales to better support and extend their go-to-market strategies such as improving annual planning, forecasting, promotional planning, trade fund allocation, retail sales and key account management, and deductions processing and settlement processes.
