IBM PS/2 PURCHASE PROGRAM FOR MULTIMEDIA INDEPENDENT SOFTWARE VENDORS

IBM PS/2 PURCHASE PROGRAM FOR MULTIMEDIA INDEPENDENT SOFTWARE VENDORS
ATLANTA, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that U.S. developers of multimedia software applications can purchase Personal System/2(A) (PS/2)(A) and Ultimedia PS/2 systems direct from IBM at a significant discount.
To qualify for the special developer price, the independent software vendor (ISV) must be a participant in the Ultimedia Developers Program and be developing a multimedia application for commercial purposes. ISVs can purchase up to 100 systems during a calendar year and must agree not to resell the systems for 12 months. ISVs must use the systems purchased for software development, marketing, and training purposes.
"The current offerings under our Ultimedia Developers Program have provided support to hundreds of ISV's who have committed to developing multimedia applications using IBM PS/2s or Ultimedia PS/2 systems," said Michael A. Braun, assistant general manager, IBM Multimedia. "Building on this success, we are adding to the services offered by the Developers Program to reach an even wider range of multimedia application creators."
ISVs can buy developer-oriented systems that are pre-configured and limited customization is also available. Most of the PS/2 configurations will come preloaded with OS/2(A).
