PITTSBURGH -- LogicLibrary[R], a leader in design-time SOA governance Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) governance is a concept used for activities related to exercising control over services in a SOA. SOA governance can be seen as an overlay on IT governance, but its focus is more organizational, since services are closely related to business activities.  and software reuse The ability to use software routines over again in new applications. This is one of the benefits of object technology. See object-oriented programming. , today announced it has completed a world-wide reseller agreement with IBM Global Services IBM Global Services is the world's largest business and technology services provider. It is the fastest growing part of IBM, with over 190,000 professionals serving customers in more than 160 countries.  for their Enterprise Application Modernization and Management practice. In order to achieve the business benefits of SOA, organizations need IT architectures that provide collaboration, flexibility and support for the business processes required to meet today's on-demand objectives. Prominent organizations such as Dun & Bradstreet and Highmark use Logidex in conjunction with solutions from the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Software Group, such as IBM Rational and IBM WebSphere, to create flexible IT environments where information is connected across the enterprise. This collaborative approach to business and IT decision making improves quality of service, mitigates business risk and improves time to market.

"By making it possible for us to maximize our reuse of software components, Logidex helps Highmark realize greater efficiencies," said Mike Kronnenwetter, vice president, technology management at Highmark. "In addition to generating these efficiencies related to development and maintenance, Logidex also fits well within our enterprise architecture and will serve Highmark's business needs for years to come.

"This agreement demonstrates IBM's continued commitment to offer our customers the widest possible options for SOA Governance solutions," said Michael Liebow, vice president Web services and SOA, IBM Global Service. "This reseller agreement deepens LogicLibrary's existing long and productive relationship with IBM," said Don Imhoff, president of LogicLibrary. "SOAs make it possible for organizations to easily reuse and combine business processes and services.
