IBM ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF ITS ULTIMEDIA(a)
 TOUCH ACTIVITY CENTER
ATLANTA, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today began customer shipments of the IBM Ultimedia(a) Touch Activity Center.
The Touch Activity Center is a multimedia kiosk which provides platforms for customer-tailored applications. These applications serve as delivery vehicles to merchandise and inform consumers about goods and services.
The Ultimedia Touch Activity Center, which was announced in March, is delivered to the customer location ready to use, having been fully assembled and integrated by IBM. This eliminates the need for the customer to design the kiosk, choose and procure components, arrange manufacturing, perform testing, design packaging and numerous other costly and time-consuming tasks associated with the successful development of a kiosk.
Each kiosk comes with all IBM and non-IBM multimedia and computer products installed and tested, including the IBM Personal System/2(a) Model 8557, the IBM 8516 Touch Display(a) and the IBM OS/2(a) 2.0 or DOS 5.0 operating system.

The kiosk cabinet contains built-in speakers, amplifier, marquee lighting, cooling fan, power strip and smoked glass privacy panels. A one-year on-site service is offered free of charge.
The customers can choose the solutions that meet their requirements. There are eight models available offering analog or digital technology for visual presentations, a credit card reader and a printer or telephone to handle transactions and print receipts.
IBM offers the Touch Activity Center through IBM Authorized Personal Computer Dealers and Industry Remarketers. IBM also offers this solution through IBM Direct Sales and Multimedia Application Specialist business partners, using the Area Multimedia Marketing Centers as the focal point for this activity.
For more information about the Ultimedia Touch Activity Center, call 800-426-9402, ext. 160. To order, contact the local IBM marketing representative.
