 IBM ANNOUNCES PRICE CHANGES
 WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM today announced


price increases of three percent on most hardware products sold in the United States. Prices for most software products will increase 5 percent. Selected maintenance agreement prices also will increase.
 The announcement does not affect product prices or price changes announced after June 26, 1992. It also excludes: professional services charges; customer education courses; RISC System/6000 (See Note); Personal System/1 (See Note); Personal System/2 (See Note); System/88 (See Note); Token Ring adapters; network processors routers and concentrators; midrange printers; AS/400 (See Note) DASD; retail point of sale terminals; and OS/2 (See Note), DOS and RISC System/6000 (AIX) operating software.
 Prices are effective immediately, however shipments prior to Dec. 31, 1992 will receive the lower prices. This price protection will assist our customers by giving them advance notice for planning product purchases in 1993.
