IBM, Grubb & Ellis name venture, select officers.

IBM and Grubb & Ellis announced that their new joint venture in the property and facilities management field has been named Axiom Real Estate Management, Inc.

It will be one of the largest such firms in the nation with approximately 80 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space under management.

Senior officers of Axiom were also announced by Thomas E. Wynn, formerly assistant general manager, site services and real estate operations for IBM North America, and now chairman and chief executive officer of Axiom. The officers announced join Ronald M. Puntil, formerly president, national property management services, Grubb & Ellis, who was named earlier as president and chief operating officer of Axiom.

Named were: * John H. Stewart, executive vice president and chief financial officer. He was assistant treasure, IBM. * Larry G. Gettinger, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. He was vice president-administration, national property management services, Grubb & Ellis. * Mark E. Houston, senior vice president and regional manager, Pacific region. He was senior vice president, national property management services, Pacific Northwest, Pacific Southwest and Central Southwest regions, Grubb & Ellis. * John Pawlowski, senior vice president and regional manager, Western region. He was director of headquarters services, West IBM. * Philip B. Rogers, senior vice president and regional manager, Eastern region. He was senior vice president, national property management services, Eastern region, Grubb & Ellis * James G. Sterling, senior vice president and regional manager, Northeast region. He was senior vice president, national property management services, Midwest region, Grubb & Ellis * Ira L. Williams, II, senior vice president and regional manager, Midwest region. He is a former director on IBM's corporate environmental affairs staff and most recently was dean of the business school, Alabama A&M University

Puntil said that in addition to providing facilities management services to IBM locations throughout the United States, Axiom will provide property management and construction management services to approximately 400 locations across the country previously serviced by Grubb & Ellis.

The new company will have approximately 1700 employees including about 500 IBM employees involved in facilities management who have elected to join Axiom.
