Construction is bringing its award-winning "Big Apple Can" sculpture to the American Institute of Architect's (ALA) annual convention. IBEX Construction was selected by the ALA to reAcreate the ``Big Apple Can" sculpture and display it at the organization's convention held from May 9-11 at the Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina “Charlotte” redirects here. Approximately 10 feet high, the sculpture was developed by IBEX with assistance from Thanhauser and Esterson Architects. The "Big Apple Can" sculptured debuted last November at the 9th Annual "Canstruction[R]" Exhibit hosted at the New York Design Center. IBEX Construction was the only contractor to take part in the competition and received an "honorable mention" award for its contribution. The "Canstruction[R]" exhibit brought together New York's top architectural and engineering firms to create dozens of food-can sculptures which were then donated to a local food bank. The jurors for the competition commented on the design's strong graphic, great details and the fact that the sculptors did not rely on the use of props. IBEX Construction also will host a reception at the AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture convention for New York state architects on Thursday.
