Headquartered in Paramus, N.J., Local 164, which includes more than 3,900 members, is comprised of electricians active throughout Bergen, Hudson and Essex counties as well as telecommunications workers contracted throughout the state. IBEW Local 164 is dedicated to providing its members with integral services that elevate the level of electrical and telecommunications expertise as well as the quality of life for its members. In addition, Local 164 offers diverse, nationally recognized training programs at two state-of-the-art training facilities in Paramus and Toms River, N.J. With the five-year electrical apprenticeship program at its core, Local 164 also offers one of the first state-and federal-certified telecommunications apprenticeship programs. The local also collaborates with high schools and vocational centers to offer a two-year, state-funded Youth Transition to Work (YTTW) Program for high school juniors and seniors in both disciplines. The new leadership team also includes executive and examining board members responsible for overseeing Local 164's management and training, respectively.
