NURNBERG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 2003

I-Logix Inc., the industry's premier provider of enterprise solutions for embedded applications development, today announced the addition of large team collaboration to Statemate(R), I-Logix' widely used systems engineering solution. I-Logix has also made major performance enhancements to Statemate 3.2, providing engineers with the most comprehensive systems engineering tool available.

Statemate 3.2 supports large-scale collaboration through a new configuration management interface, and the automatic generation of hyperlinked documents using a new Statemate Documenter template. Hyperlinking allows users to generate documents directly from a model while linking all model elements together. This provides easy navigation of the design documentation, ideal when communicating with groups not directly familiar with the model itself. Further, these hyperlinked documents can easily be "published" on the web, allowing teams in many different locations to collaborate.

Several performance enhancements have been added to Statemate 3.2. The data-dictionary database access and simulation engines have been further optimized to improve read/write access times and overall performance respectively. In addition, the time it takes to produce documentation, debug To correct a problem in hardware or software. Debugging software means locating the errors in the source code (the program logic). Debugging hardware means finding errors in the circuit design (logical circuits) or in the physical interconnections of the circuits.  models and mini-specs, edit Truth Tables and change element types in the data dictionary A database about data and databases. It holds the name, type, range of values, source, and authorization for access for each data element in the organization's files and databases.  has been significantly reduced. Each of these features contributes to improving developer productivity and further enables Statemate to be effectively utilized on very large systems.

Statemate 3.2 expands upon systems engineering with broad process coverage through a new, more comprehensive DOORS(R) interface, automatic generation of Sequence Diagrams, and the addition of Switch and Case constructs. The DOORS interface module has been completely redesigned to follow a standard Windows(R) look and feel. In addition, it provides greater flexibility over what information will be linked with DOORS requirements and provides automatic links between Statemate model elements. This will reduce the time it takes to link and manage DOORS requirements with Statemate model elements.

As the next step in the integration of Unified Modeling Language See UML.

This will aid in debugging (programming) debugging - The process of attempting to determine the cause of the symptoms of malfunctions in a program or other system. These symptoms may be detected during testing or use by real users.  the model and reduce the time it takes to ensure you have captured the design intent as well as the time it takes to capture the expected system scenarios.

The Statemate action language has been extended to include both the Switch and the Case constructs which provide users with more options to define the logic of the system, making it faster to build models and easier to communicate design intent.

Availability

Statemate 3.2 will be available for purchase in March 2003.

Statemate is a graphical design, simulation and prototyping tool for the rapid development of complex embedded systems Embedded systems

Computer systems that cannot be programmed by the user because they are preprogrammed for a specific task and are buried within the equipment they serve.
. It enables engineers to graphically capture their system requirements To be used efficiently, all computer software needs certain hardware components or other software resources to be present on a computer system. These pre-requisites are known as (computer) system requirements and are often used as a guideline as opposed to an absolute rule. , specifications and designs using a combination of the UML and traditional functional design notations. The graphical models captured in Statemate are simulated on the host computer allowing errors in the requirements and specifications to be discovered early in the process when they are inexpensive to fix. Statemate automatically generates documentation, prototype code, test vectors, and enables corporate re-use of key systems components.
