SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1996--Hyundai Electronics America (HEA), Monitor Division, today announced the addition of two new full-featured 17" color monitors -- the DeluxScan(R) 17B, Hyundai's premier 17" monitor, and DeluxScan 17MB -- to its DeluxScan Series.

With the introduction of these two high-quality monitors, Hyundai continues to offer the best-in-class 17" monitor price points for users in the corporate, SOHO and personal home use markets.

Replacing its predecessor, the DeluxScan 17, the new 17B offers advanced technology and upgraded on-screen digital controls, including rotation, color control and trapezoid. It also features a 17" FST CRT (15.8" viewable) with Invar Shadow Mask screen and a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 NI (non-interlaced) for increased functionality.

The DeluxScan 17MB features a 17" FST CRT (15.8" viewable) screen with a recommended resolution of 800 x 600 NI and a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz. The 17MB is unique in that it is a superior alternative for 14" and 15" users seeking increased screen size at a low cost.

Features/Benefits

The DeluxScan 17B (HL7864F) features on-screen digital controls, including rotation, RGB color control & trapezoid -- all of which allows users to optimize the display image by capturing personal preferences for monitor settings, color intensity and geometric adjustments.

The DeluxScan 17MB (HN7448M) features digital controls including manual degauss and recall, a .42 mm stripe pitch, and a horizontal frequency of 30-48kHz. A more consumer- oriented monitor, the 17MB is geared specifically towards users who run applications in 640 x 480 NI or 800 x 600 NI resolutions. For SOHO, gamers and Internet users, the larger pixel size results in greater brightness than smaller dot pitch 14" and 15" monitors -- similar to technology found in televisions.

Both monitors meet worldwide regulatory approvals for safety, EMI and design, including UL, CSA, TUV-GS, ISO9241- 3, DHHS, SEMKO, DEMKO, NEMKO, FIMKO, FCC Class B, CE, Energy Star and VESA DPMS. Both products are ISO9000 certified and are covered by a 36-month warranty, including parts, labor and CRT.
