Additionally, the Korean Intellectual Property Office has also informed Hythiam that it has issued patent nos. 712570 and 712571 which contain claims for the use of a composition of matter for the treatment of alcoholism and cocaine dependence. The patents will serve to enhance protection of the intellectual property underlying the company's PROMETA Protocols in these respective nations.
