Hypocritical.Dear editor, I am happy that our Canadian House of Bishops expressed "grave concern" about the proposed legislation regarding homosexuality homosexuality, a term created by 19th cent. theorists to describe a sexual and emotional interest in members of one's own sex. Today a person is often said to have a homosexual or a heterosexual orientation, a description intended to defuse some of the long-standing in Nigeria and have disassociated themselves from the actions of the Church in Nigeria (Bishops speak out against Nigerian laws on homosexuality, May 4 anglicanjournal.com news story). However, is this not somewhat hypocritical hyp·o·crit·i·cal adj. 1. Characterized by hypocrisy: hypocritical praise. 2.
