Revenues and net income increased 29 percent and 26 percent, respectively, from $172.8 million and $9.5 million, or $.53 per share, for fiscal year 1996. The company generated cash of $47.1 million from its 1997 operating activities.

Software sales rose 24 percent for the year to $112.1 million. Strong revenue growth was realized across all product lines and geographic regions, including Asia, Europe and North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .
