Hydrophobic polyol.

Multranol 8224 is designed to make solid polyurethane elastomers virtually impervious to wet or humid environments. It improves the water resistance of polyurethane elastomers, making them suitable for a variety of applications including electrical encapsulants. It can be used with a variety of polyisocyanates to produce elastomers in the 35 to 75 Shore D hardness range. It exhibits 5 to 10 times lower water absorption than conventional polyether-based polyurethanes, superior resistance to chlorinated water, and excellent resistance to hydrolysis at high temperatures and humidity. It is characterized by its low viscosity and ability to readily blend with a Variety of polyisocyanates.
