Hydro completes divestment.

The company's recently announced sale of a 49% share in Meridian Meridian (mərĭd`ēən), city (1990 pop. 41,036), seat of Lauderdale co., E Miss., near the Ala. line; settled 1831, inc. 1860.  Technologies Inc., Ontario, Canada, has now been completed. The sale of Hydro's 49.99% interest in the Mexican joint-venture company Castech S.A. de CV, Saltillo, Mexico, to Grupo Industrial Saltillo S.A.B de CV also has been completed.

The buyer of Meridian is a consortium led by the Norwegian investor Jostein Eikeland's Swiss holding company Estatia AG. The transaction is based on an enterprise value of the business of $169.7 million and will offer a $8.1 million gain on Hydro's results.
