Hurricane central at tapped in.


In response to Hurricane Katrina Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism.  and its aftermath, Tapped In--the online community of over 2,800 K-16 teachers, staff, and researchers engaged in both formal professional development programs and informal collaborative efforts has created Hurricane Central Group Room. The purpose of the group is to provide resources and collaboration opportunities among affected schools and those schools want ing to contribute to the relief efforts Ideas include adopting a classroom or school; providing online classes or lesson plans for overcrowded o·ver·crowd

The Tapped In community hopes art teachers will join the Hurricane Central Group and contribute what resources you can The focus for this long-term project should be on project-based learning Project-based learning, or PBL (often "PjBL" to avoid confusion with "Problem-based Learning"), is a constructivist pedagogy that intends to bring about deep learning by allowing learners to use an inquiry based approach to engage with issues and questions that are rich, real and  that allows Tapped In to do what it does best: provide a community in which educators can work together, and support each other, to overcome the challenges that K-12 educators face. The Tapped In community hopes that the March 2006 Mini Expo will showcase what has been accomplished at that point. Anyone can see and join this group at www.tappedin.org.
