Hurricane Katrina Update: Electrical Power Restored; LOOP Increases Crude Oil Flow.


GALLIANO, La. -- Entergy restored power to LOOP's Clovelly storage facility yesterday evening (Friday). This gives LOOP the ability to operate at about 75-percent of its capacity.

 station is still without power. Entergy will install a 22 MW electric generator generator, in electricity, machine used to change mechanical energy into electrical energy. It operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, discovered (1831) by Michael Faraday.  to power the pumps at Fourchon. We anticipate the generator will arrive in 7 days and be operational within 9 days. When power is restored at Fourchon, LOOP will be at full capacity.

LOOP stopped offloading tankers on Saturday, August 27th, in anticipation of Hurricane Katrina Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism. . Tanker offloading resumed on Wednesday, September 1st. The first tanker completed offloading yesterday and the second tanker should complete its discharge tonight. There are 4 tankers currently waiting to discharge.

LOCAP Low Combat Air Patrol
 pipeline continues to receive crude oil from LOOP's Clovelly storage and make deliveries to a local refinery. Both LOOP and LOCAP are prepared to make deliveries to other local refineries once they are ready to receive crude oil. LOCAP is scheduled to make crude oil delivers to Capline tomorrow (Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week. ).
