Humana Veterans Healthcare Services Appoints Former U.S. Army Deputy Surgeon General for Force Management to Advisory Board.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Humana Veterans Healthcare Services (HVHS HVHS Hutt Valley High School (New Zealand) ) announces the appointment of former U.S. Army Deputy Surgeon General The U.S. Surgeon General is charged with the protection and advancement of health in the United States. Since the 1960s the surgeon general has become a highly visible federal public health official, speaking out against known health risks such as tobacco use, and promoting disease , Gale Pollock Major General Gale S. Pollock has served as the Deputy Surgeon General of the United States Army since October 2006, and also as chief of the Army Nurse Corps. She became acting Surgeon General of the United States Army on 20 March 2007 following the retirement of her predecessor, (MG,Ret.) to its Advisory Board. General Pollock will join the HVHS Advisory Board for their meeting in Louisville, KY this December. The HVHS Advisory Board was formed to provide guidance and insight into the changing needs of the veterans' healthcare environment and assist in improving the level of care provided to those who have honorably served the nation.
In December 2007, Pollock became the Deputy Surgeon General for Force Management, while also serving as Chief of the Army Nurse Corps. She has served as Commander U.S. Army Medical Command/Acting Surgeon General since March 2007. Pollock retired as a Major General in midsummer 2008.
In her distinguished career, she served as Commanding General, Tripler Army Medical Center Tripler Army Medical Center is the headquarters of the Pacific Regional Medical Command of the armed forces administered by the United States Army in the State of Hawaii.
