Hughes selected to provide air defense system in Germany.


FULLERTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1996--Hughes Aircraft Co. has been awarded a $12.7 million subcontract from Dornier GmbH of Germany to supply Sentry, an off-the-shelf air defense system, to the Control and Reporting Center A subordinate air control element of the tactical air control center from which radar control and warning operations are conducted within its area of responsibility.  Schonewalde for the German Air Force.

Under terms of the contract, Hughes will tailor Sentry to meet mission-specific German Air Force requirements. Customization includes the addition of a digital data link to the NATO NATO: see North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
