Hughes Training awarded WARSIM 2000 Phase I contract.

 2000 simulation program.

WARSIM 2000 is designed to provide a simulated training environment allowing unit commanders and battle staffs to direct simulated warfighters and weapon systems to counter threats across a full range of Army and Joint operational scenarios.

WARSIM's Phase I period will last approximately six months, during which time STRICOM officials will observe key features of the Hughes Training team's proposed approach in meeting the program's overall objectives. In early 1996, following Phase I completion of WARSIM 2000, the Army plans to select a company to undertake full-scale development of the WARSIM 2000 simulation system.

During Phase I, the Hughes Training WARSIM 2000 integrated product team will develop and refine a battlefield simulation architecture, undertake system and software engineering demonstrations, and conduct and a software prototyping project. This program activity will be conducted in Hughes Training's Integrated Development Facility in Orlando, Fla.
