Hughes Training's Link Division makes presentations to U.S. Navy STRATCOMMWING One and U.S. Air Force 552 Air Control Wing.


BINGHAMTON, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1995--Hughes Training Inc.'s Link Division recently presented the U.S. Navy's STRATCOMMWING ONE and the U.S. Air Force's 552 Air Control Wing at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, with commemorative paintings.

The presentations marked the first anniversary of the partnership between Hughes Training and the combined U.S. Air Force/Navy E-3 and E-6 Flight Crew Training Program.

The paintings depict a variety of ground and flight crew training activities in the E-3 and E-6 aircraft and represent the dual nature of Hughes Training's responsibilities in both the Air Force and Navy training areas.

Presentation of the paintings was made by Hughes Training's Vice President of Training Services, Ed Field, to Colonel Ben T. Robinson, the Air Force's 552 ACW ACW Arts Council of Wales (UK)

 Operations Group Commander, and Commodore Kermit A. Ayres, the Navy's E-6 Wing Commander on Dec. 9, 1994. The paintings will hang prominently in the Jerry Auth Flight Training Center, where all E-3 flight crew academic and flight simulator training takes place, and in the STRATCOMMWING ONE headquarters building, home to E-6 flight crew training.

Hughes Training provides academic and flight simulator training for the Air Force's E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System The Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) is an aircraft system designed to carry out surveillance, and C2BM (command and control, battle management) functions.  and the Navy's E-6 flight crew members. Hughes Training maintains the E-3/E-6 Inflight Trainers (B707s) and provides flight engineer support for the 552 Air Control Wing's B707 training sorties.
