Hudson waterfront community in Westchester enters Phase II.

Mystic Pointe, the only residential development currently being built directly on the Hudson River Hudson River

River, New York, U.S. Originating in the Adirondack Mountains and flowing for about 315 mi (507 km) to New York City, it was named for Henry Hudson, who explored it in 1609. Dutch settlement of the Hudson valley began in 1629.
in Westchester County, has entered its second phase of development.

Mystic Pointe is on a unique location on the river because the Hudson line Hudson Line refers to the following rail lines:
  • Hudson Line (Metro-North), a commuter line from New York City north to Poughkeepsie
  • Hudson Line (Conrail), now CSX's Hudson Subdivision from Poughkeepsie north to Rensselaer
train tracks do not cut off the river's edge from the mainland as they do in most of Westchester County. The tracks at this location are built out in the water, therefore, residents can walk right to the river's edge. Living on the Hudson River has inspired artists and regular folk for many years, and so it is now at Mystic Pointe, where people in all age groups and family circumstance are vying for choice home sites. The interest goes across the board from retirees and empty nesters to singles and families.

The eight models at Mystic Pointe all have a nautical theme which reflects the site's waterside location. The style is reminiscent of a New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  seaside town, dressed up in weathered gray shingles shingles: see herpes zoster.

Situated on a 46-acre hill bordered by the Hudson River, Mystic Pointe is a gated community with 168 mostly semi-attached homes. Like GDC's award-winning communities Boulder Ridge in Scarsdale, Clarewood in Hastings-on-Hudson, Pondside in White Plains and Winchester Villages in Yonkers, Mystic Pointe's homes were carefully designed to create the least amount of disturbance to the land and to provide the best exposures and views.

The loop road, called Mystic Drive, was designed to create a maximum perimeter for river views and contributes to a friendly feeling in the community. Most townhomes are duplexes with substantial side-yards, which contribute to the residential, single-family appearance of the community.

In order to preserve the character of the site, eight different models were developed to fit various site conditions. Uphill models have garages below the first level and downhill models have garages on the main level. On the steepest portion of the site, attached townhomes were designed with bedrooms below the living room and basements below bedrooms. These "upside-down" houses maximized views from living areas and allowed cathedral ceilings. Homes on this hill crest site were oriented so that walkout basements are achieved. Two models also offer master bedroom suites on the living room level.

Conveniently located in the northwest corner of Ossining, the site is only a minute or so away from the Croton croton, in botany
croton (krō`tən), any of several species of Codiaeum that are widely cultivated as ornamentals and houseplants. The most popular species is C.
Railroad Station (50 minutes to Grand Central Station). The Mystic Pointe Association will provide a shuttle-bus to the station. Just opposite the entrance is the junction of Route 9A and Route 9 and only a few minutes from the Taconic, Sprain sprain, stretching or wrenching of the ligaments and tendons of a joint, often with rupture of the tissues but without dislocation. Sprains occur most commonly at the ankle, knee, or wrist joints, causing pain, swelling, and difficulty in moving the involved joint.  and the Saw Mill River Parkways.

Eight different models will offer a variety of floor plans as well as elevations. The result is an interesting, varied street scape and home designs to suit different family needs. All homes will have private rear yards. Many will also have sky studios and cathedral ceilings over living room/dining room areas of over bedrooms. A unique feature of several models will be a glass enclosed "gazebo" breakfast room, which will have a peaked ceiling and extra high windows.

Decks and balconies provide vantage points for outdoor living and the enjoyment of the river views. There will also be a recreation center with swimming pool, wading pool, tennis court and a large clubhouse with state-of-the-art exercise center, lounge, community room, kitchen facilities, lockers, saunas and bathrooms.

Sales have been strong at Mystic Pointe, as 67 homes have already been sold. Recently, GDC opened up Mystic Pointe's second phase, in which many of the homes will have direct views of the Hudson River.

The prices at Mystic Pointe range from $224,900 to $475,000. There are four furnished models and two new models are being previewed presently. Models are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday except Wednesday.
