), announced the grand reopening of the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake Resort and Conference Center on June 11, with over 1000 people in attendance. The Inn, which had been closed since November, 1995, underwent extensive renovations creating a top, luxury resort in the Finger Lakes region. The Inn on the Lake is located on the northern shore of Canandaigua Lake, close to New York State Thruway The New York State Thruway (officially the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway) is a limited-access toll highway in the U.S. state of New York. Built in the 1950s by the State of New York in order to connect the major cities of New York, it is the longest toll road in the  exits No. 43 and No. 44.

The former 147 room Inn has been reconstructed into 134 rooms including 48 suites, 10 of which have Jacuzzis, and 16 Lakefront rooms, with all facilities having full handicap accessibility. Major features of the remodeling include a new fitness center, outdoor Lakefront Pavilion and Gazebo gazebo

Lookout in the form of a turret, cupola (small, lanternlike dome), or garden house set on a height to give an extensive view. Few late-18th- and 19th-century rustic gazebos survive, but 17th-century turrets built up in an angle of the garden wall are not uncommon.
. The Grand Ballroom seats up to 250 guests banquet style or 350 theater style, making it ideal for weddings or conferences. Additionally, business functions and smaller discussion groups can be accommodated in any of eight refurbished meeting rooms which seat anywhere from 10 to 350 attendees.
