, global leader in navigation and positioning systems for professional and private use, today announced it has appointed Hubert Canuet as general manager and vice president of its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  business unit. With key expertise in developing OEM businesses, Canuet will lead Thales Navigation's OEM business during its growth phase with expansion into auto navigation markets. Canuet reports directly to Thales Navigation Chief Executive Officer Henry Gaillard.

Canuet spent ten years heading up sales and marketing for Thales Computers, where his focus was on defense, telecommunications and industrial markets. During his time at Thales Computers, he built a strong sales and marketing team, developed direct and indirect sales channels, and helped to refocus the company to better address its strategic markets. All of these efforts led to strong, profitable growth for the business in the OEM sector.
