Howmet to Acquire Japanese Venture.


Howmet International, Inc., Greenwich, Connecticut Greenwich is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 61,101. It is home to many hedge funds and other financial service companies that have left Manhattan. ). Howmet owns an 81% interest in the firm, and Komatsu owns a 19% interest. Howmet is making the acquisition pursuant to an agreement entered into with Komatsu in 1994.

"We believe that KHL's operations and business relations have matured to the point where KHL can stand on its own, without the additional support needed until now, which the joint venture provided," said Howmet President David Squier.

The parties expect the acquisition to be completed before July.
