How companies reward outside directors.


According to a nationwide poll of 300 companies, total compensation for outside directors rose a mere 2.4% in 2992. Of the Companies surveyed, 86% compensate directors with an annual fee plus per-meeting fees. Additional compensation for committee service was provided by 84% of the companies.
