QABOUT 18 months ago I went away for a short holiday without my husband.

When I came back he confessed that he'd had a one-night stand with a woman who lives locally.

I was desperately hurt and humiliated, but he promised me it wouldn't happen again and we tried to patch things up.

It then turned out she was pregnant. She is married and the baby is being brought up as her husband's, and I don't think he knows about his wife's fling.

The timing, though, is right for it to be my husband's child, and every time she sees me she gives a self-satisfied smile.
