How about hydrogen?

In your January/February 2006 article "Consider the Alternatives" (Features), you discuss hydrogen and energy. You must emphasize that hydrogen is not an energy source, any more than electricity is. How clean a fuel is depends on the energy source used to produce it. In "The Hydrogen House" (In Briefs) in the same issue, the text is more clear: the hydrogen is converted at the house using energy from solar panels.

However, that article is still not complete. Hydrogen is not "easier to store than batteries or water," as Tai Tai, lake, China
Tai (tī), lake, c.1,300 sq mi (3,370 sq km), on the border between Jiangsu prov. and Zhejiang prov., E China; second largest freshwater lake in China. Dotted with islands, it is one of China's most scenic areas.
Robinson asserts in the article, and it should be clarified that the manufacture of solar panels may or may not be clean. It usually is not, since many steps are involved that require appreciable ap·pre·cia·ble
