Meeting space

A recent $165 million expansion project virtually doubled the size of the George R. Brown Convention Center to nearly 1.2 million net square feet of exposition, meeting, and registration space.

The new Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel has 1,200 guest rooms, meeting and retail space, and skywalks to the George R. Brown Convention Center: West of downtown. The Ascot at Town and Country is a mixed-use facility with a new state-of-the-art banquet center and approximately 30,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space. The Central Business District contains 5,000 hotel rooms. An additional 50,000 hotel rooms are located within the metropolitan area. Reliant Center, located in Reliant Park and close to the medical center area, has more than 1.2 million square feet of exposition and meeting space. Reliant Stadium is the world's first retractable-roof NFL stadium and has 69,500 seats.

Downtown space

Houston's NBA winning franchise, the Houston Rockets, has moved to Toyota Center, a new downtown arena that boasts the city's largest escalator. One of the finest baseball parks in America, Minute Maid Park, which features a retractable roof, is home to the Houston Astros.

The Downtown Aquarium, an underwater dining and entertainment adventure, features 500,000 gallons of marine life, several themed restaurants, a Ferris wheel, boardwalk, dancing fountains, and more. And at Bayou Place you can take in a movie, enjoy a cocktail, or dine at one of many restaurants.

Theater space

Houston is one of five cities in the United States with permanent professional resident companies in the four disciplines of the performing arts, including the Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, and Alley Theatre. The new Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown features two theatres and is home to Theatre Under the Stars.

Have some out-of-this-world fun at Space Center Houston. Tour Johnson Space Center and check out the heart of the space program, Mission Control. Enjoy the rainforest, white sand beaches, penguins, and a discovery pyramid--all at Moody Gardens in nearby Galveston.

Outdoor space

Love the great outdoors? SpaceCity has more than 20,500 acres of green and growing city parks. Enjoy the great outdoors in Clear Lake, just 30 minutes from downtown Houston, Relax on a sailboat or have dinner and some fun on the Kemah Boardwalk. Head to miles of sun-drenched beaches. Galveston is an hour from downtown Houston.

Healing space

Miracles happen daily at the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest health care complex and the largest medical campus in the world, with 42 nonprofit institutions including MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children's Hospital.

St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, home to the Texas Heart Institute, is the site for more heart surgeries than any hospital in the world.

Special space
