Housing sales drop; prices still rise.


Home sales fell in November November: see month.  in Lane County, compared to a year ago, but prices continued to rise.

The number of closed sales dropped 29 percent, to 295, while the number of pending sales fell 10 percent, to 317.

But the average price for an existing home in Lane County rose 5 percent compared to November 2005, to $249,300. The median price rose almost 10 percent, to $225,000, meaning that half the homes sold last month sold for more than this, half for less.
