It is an overnight event designed to spread awareness of cancer prevention, treatments and cures, celebrate survivorship and raise money " event taking place at Byram Hills High School Byram Hills High School is a four-year co-educational public secondary school located in Armonk, New York. Its principal is Dr. William Donohue and its vice principals are Melissa Stahl and Vincent Vecchiariello. on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. "Relay For Life" is an exciting overnight event involving teams of people who gather at schools or parks to take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. The event represents a community taking up the fight against cancer by raising money for research, education, advocacy and American Cancer Society American Cancer Society, n.pr established in 1913, this national volunteer-based health organization is committed to the elimination of cancer through prevention and treatment and to diminishing cancer suffering through advocacy, scholarship, research, programs, honoring cancer survivors Cancer survivors are those individuals with cancer of any type, current or past, who are still living. The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) pioneered the definition of survivor as from the time of diagnosis and for the balance of life, a person diagnosed with and remembering those lost to the disease. The event will also feature entertainment, fun, prizes and games. Also included is a bouncing castle for children, which Houlihan/Lawrence is underwriting Underwriting 1.
