The company's headquarters is located in Boston's Back Bay. It publishes textbooks, instructional technology materials, assessments, reference works, and fiction and non-fiction for both young readers  (Boston, MA) for $42 million in cash.

Promissor is a provider of licensing examinations for state and federal regulatory bodies in the U.S. The company offers five core products and services: test development services, content management tools, Promissor test delivery system, test center options and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services .
