Houghton Mifflin Company launches Houghton Mifflin School Direct (TM), an on-line K-8 Educational Resource Store.

) announced today the launch of a new on-line store, Houghton Mifflin School Direct. School Direct allows customers to order selected Houghton Mifflin Company educational materials directly on-line. The new site can be found in two ways, as a link from Houghton Mifflin's popular K-8 web site, Education Place (http://www.eduplace.com), or directly, at http://www.schooldirect.com

The store currently offers selected reading/language arts materials from all past and present textbook textbook Informatics A treatise on a particular subject. See Bible.  series, including Invitations to Literacy and Heath heath, tract of open land
heath, tract of open land characterized by a few scattered trees, abundant moss cover, and numerous low shrubs, principally of the heath family (see heath, in botany).
 Reading, as well as selected educational materials and trade books. Mathematics, social studies, and technology products will be added later this fall.

School Direct was developed in response to the requests of many customers who visited Education Place and wanted to purchase educational materials on-line. Education Place is Houghton Mifflin's extensive on-line resource for teachers, parents, and students. It has been recognized as an outstanding educational resource by Education World, the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse clearinghouse

Customers visiting School Direct will be able to search for products by textbook series, or specifically by curriculum area, grade, price, and product type. Pictures and product descriptions are provided for each product, and customers can choose how products should be shipped and to whom. Credit card authorizations and confirmations of shipments are completed on-line, and information is communicated directly between the customer and School Direct.
